RESERVE APPLICANTS

 

To be eligible for the position of Reserve Firefighter you must meet the following requirements:

 

                A minimum score of 75% on the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) FIRE test

                Colorado EMT-B Certification or National Registry

                Pass a physical agility test

                Pass a criminal background check

                Pass a physical that includes a drug screen

                Pass the NWFD Firefighter I academy

 

   There is a fee of $800.00 to join the reserve program.  After two years of service as a Reserve Firefighter this money will be refunded to you.  If you fail to meet the two year commitment, all money is forfeited.

 

   As mentioned above, Reserves are required to pass the North Washington Firefighter I Academy.  Please be aware, there is a $1,800.00 tuition to attend the academy to cover the cost of training and equipment.  We currently have an academy scheduled to begin in March, but please watch our website for updates.

   Our Reserve Firefighters are required to work a minimum of three (3) twelve hour shifts per month, plus attend one training session on the third Saturday of every month.  The Reserves receive a small stipend for each shift they work.
